Virgin María llena eres de independencia
My brown soul will forever carry your bandera
For it flourishes the common era for womxn’s freedom
In America being chicana is nothing but a mix of this gringo world with a dash of my Mexican roots deeply furled
This identity will be the vanity of who I represent
And this Mexican race will never be of disgrace
As the sun beams on our golden bodies you will by all means look over your people
After all you are not just our mother you also feather our pain
